Teacher’s laptops now have access to a VPN to log in when they are locked out of their laptop and out of the county such as at a training in Charleston.
In order to use this VPN connection you must first call the technology department to explain your situation and request that you be given temporary VPN access. Once you have been given access you will need to select the VPN connection by clicking on the icon shown in the red box below. You must be connected to a network cable or wireless to use this connection. You can click on the wireless icon to the right of the red square to connect to wifi if needed. Click the VPN and sign in as your normally do.
You should check that you have this icon available before you take your laptop to a training outside of the county. This icon will only show up on machines designated as the teachers machine. Typically this is the SmartBoard laptop. This icon should start showing up on your laptop after it has been reloaded to Windows 10. If you do not have this icon and you are using a teacher laptop notify your school SysOp.
