Wireless changes starting in October

During the first week of October, all Apple devices will be disabled on our server.  We notified schools of this change 2 months ago and asked that each school send us a list of all of their devices serial numbers by the end of September.  We will be implementing our Apple MDM (Mobile Device Management) system starting the first week of October.  We will notify each school as we move you to the new system so you can setup your devices on the new system.  You will no longer be able to add Apple devices to the server as you have done in the past.  You should now see MobileDeviceSetup and MobileDevices being broadcast on wireless at your school.

All schools should now see a new wireless SSID called WCSWireless being broadcast in their schools.  We will be moving all of the wireless computers in the county to this new SSID automatically.  If your laptop gets disconnected and you manually connect to wifi, you should choose WCSWireless.  The school specific  SSID’s will be removed once the majority of machines have been moved over.

Update: October 10 2016

Do to some issues with wireless and some schools not turning in their lists, the cut off date has been extended until October 17 2016.
