Laptop Issues

We are currently seeing an issue with a large portion of our laptops.  The problem appears to be that some of the Windows services stop responding.  Due to this problem, the laptops will not install software from our Software Center, randomly freeze, or lock up.

A temporary work around to install software from Software Center is to tell the software to install, then restart your computer.  The software should install immediately after rebooting.  The problems will start appearing again after a period of time.  We are still trying to determine what machines are experiencing this problem.  Please contact us and let us know if you are having problem with installing software, the start menu not working, or your machine freezing for long periods of time.  Please let us know what brand and model of machine is having this problem.

This issue has mostly been reported as affecting the high school laptops issued to students.
